  • 50g Mortimer chocolate powder
  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 75g butter
  • 500g prepared fruit*

Method

Rub the butter into the flour. I find the easiest way is to take the butter straight from the fridge and grate it in the flour, then rub in. Stir in the sugar and chocolate powder.

In a deep pie dish add the fruit and sprinkle over the crumble mixture.

Bake in a hot oven 190 deg C, Gas Mark 5 for 30 minutes.

Serve with cream, custard or ice-cream. Left-overs taste great served cold with crème fraîche.

*We have enjoyed plum crumble, apple and blackberry, apple and raspberry, also pear and raisin. Just devise your own fruit combination.
